Tankdiving, 2003

Tank Diving consists of three different video documentations from dives I conducted in water filled baptistry tanks in the Swedish countryside. I was baptized when I was 13 years old. I now returning through the diving process down in both physical and mental memories. A process that I call mental archeology. As preparation before diving I studied marine archeology at Södertörn University and I investigated also technology and aesthetics associated with marine archaeological underwater documentation at the Swedish Maritime Archaeological Archives (SMA). The diving was conducted in cold water and alone in small chapel in the countryside. It can be seen as bodily performative acts, where the physical connect with mental images to reveal memories and existential condition.
